Explore France
From the gravelly banks of the Gironde to the sun-drenched terraces of the Rhone, France's wine regions offer an unparalleled tapestry of terroir, tradition and taste. Discover the appellations that have shaped the world of fine wine.
Region 01
Where the Gironde estuary meets the Atlantic, Bordeaux stands as the most celebrated wine region on earth. The Left Bank delivers power and structure through Cabernet Sauvignon on gravelly soils, while the Right Bank offers elegance and richness with Merlot on clay and limestone. Together, they define the art of the blend.
Region 02
In Burgundy, the concept of terroir reaches its purest expression. The celebrated Cote d'Or, a narrow strip of limestone hillside, produces wines of extraordinary complexity from just two grapes. The climat system, a centuries-old mapping of individual vineyard plots, reveals how even a few metres of difference can transform a wine entirely.
Region 03
More than a wine, Champagne is a symbol of joy and occasion. The methode champenoise, perfected over centuries in the chalk cellars beneath Reims and Epernay, transforms still wine into liquid gold. The grandes marques uphold tradition, while a new generation of grower-producers is redefining what Champagne can be.
Region 04
The Rhone Valley is a study in contrasts. The Northern Rhone, with its steep granite hillsides, produces some of the world's most refined Syrah. The Southern Rhone, bathed in Mediterranean sunshine, crafts generous, aromatic blends led by Grenache. Together, they offer remarkable range and outstanding value.
Region 05
Stretching over 1,000 kilometres from the volcanic heart of France to the Atlantic coast, the Loire Valley is the country's most diverse wine region. From the flinty Sauvignon Blanc of Sancerre to the honeyed Chenin Blanc of Vouvray, from elegant Cabernet Franc in Chinon to crisp Muscadet by the sea, there is always something new to discover.
